The Precision Trunk Weatherstrip Seal, TS 101 R-250, is a 250-foot bulk roll of high-quality trunk sealing material designed for trunk lid and trunk flange sealing on a wide range of vehicles. Made from durable EPDM-grade rubber, this weatherstrip provides reliable protection against water intrusion, dust, road noise, and vibration while restoring or replacing worn factory seals. Its flexible profile and easy-to-trim length make it ideal for restoration shops, classic car projects, fleet maintenance, and do-it-yourself repairs, offering long-lasting resilience to UV, ozone, and temperature extremes.
Features:
- 250-foot bulk roll (TS 101 R-250) for multiple vehicles or full restoration projects
- Made from EPDM-grade rubber for long-lasting flexibility and resistance to UV and ozone
- Seals trunk lids and trunk flanges to prevent water, dust, and noise intrusion
- Profile designed for a secure fit and vibration reduction on most trunk designs
- Easy to cut and install—use adhesive or fit into existing channel depending on vehicle
- Ideal for restoration, replacement, or preventative maintenance applications
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–120 minutes (typical single-trunk install)
Instructions:
- Measure the trunk flange perimeter and add a small overlap (1/2"–1") for a clean joint.
- Clean the flange surface thoroughly with a cleaner/degreaser and allow to dry.
- Unroll the weatherstrip and test-fit along the flange to confirm profile orientation and fit.
- Mark trim points and cut the seal to length with a utility knife or heavy-duty scissors.
- If adhesive is required, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the flange or to the seal per adhesive instructions; allow tack time if specified.
- Press the seal into place, working around the perimeter; use masking tape to temporarily hold sections if needed.
- Form corners by trimming at appropriate angles or creating small relief cuts for a smooth fit.
- Use a hand roller or trim tool to press the seal firmly into the flange and ensure full contact.
- Allow adhesive to cure per manufacturer directions before closing the trunk or exposing to water.
- Inspect the seal for gaps, even compression, and proper trunk closure; trim or adjust as necessary.
