This ribbed heater hose set is designed to replace aging or worn heater lines on 1958–1981 GM cars and trucks, restoring reliable hot-coolant flow to the heater core. The ribbed exterior resists kinking and improves flexibility for tighter engine-bay routing while offering long-lasting heat and coolant resistance. Ideal for classic restoration or routine maintenance, the set simplifies replacing brittle original hoses with a durable, OE-style solution that improves reliability and reduces the chance of leaks.
Features:
  • Fitment: Designed for 1958–1981 GM cars and trucks (heater hose application).
  • Ribbed construction resists kinks and improves flexibility in tight engine compartments.
  • Made from durable, heat- and coolant-resistant rubber for long service life.
  • OE-style profiles and lengths for straightforward replacement and correct routing.
  • Ideal for classic restorations or preventive maintenance to eliminate brittle, leaking hoses.
  • Easy to install with common hand tools; helps prevent coolant loss and heater failure.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Flathead or Phillips screwdriver (clamp type dependent)
  • Pliers or hose clamp pliers
  • Drain pan
  • Work gloves
  • Rag or shop towels
  • Coolant (as needed)
  • Hose cutters or utility knife (if trimming required)
Instructions:
  1. Ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery cable if desired for safety.
  2. Place a drain pan under the radiator and partially drain the coolant to a level below the heater core connections.
  3. Loosen and remove hose clamps, then detach the old heater hoses from the heater core and engine fittings. Use pliers or a hose pick carefully if hoses are stuck.
  4. Compare new hoses to the removed pieces and trim to length if necessary for proper routing.
  5. Route new ribbed hoses following factory paths, push onto fittings fully, and secure with appropriate clamps. Ensure hoses are not twisted or rubbing on moving parts.
  6. Refill the cooling system to the proper level with the correct coolant mixture, then bleed air from the heater core and cooling system per the vehicle’s service procedure.
  7. Start the engine, run until at operating temperature, check for leaks, verify heater operation, and re-torque clamps if needed after a short test drive.
