Correct replacement heater box resistor screws for 1950–1980 GM cars. These fasteners secure the blower resistor to the heater box, preventing vibration, poor grounding, and intermittent blower operation. Designed to match original dimensions and thread form for an authentic fit, they deliver durable, corrosion-resistant performance and easy installation—ideal for restoration projects or routine maintenance.
Features:
  • Fits 1950–1980 GM cars (heater box resistor mounting screws; verify application for specific model/year).
  • High-grade steel construction with corrosion-resistant plating for long-term durability.
  • OEM-correct dimensions and thread form for accurate fit and secure fastening.
  • Prevents resistor movement and vibration-related failures for reliable blower operation.
  • Simple screw-in replacement to restore proper grounding and electrical connection.
  • Perfect for restorations, repairs, and replacing missing or damaged original hardware.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 15-30 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Phillips screwdriver (or appropriate driver bit)
  • Socket set or nut driver (if applicable)
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Wire brush or contact cleaner
  • Medium-strength threadlocker (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Disconnect the vehicle battery to prevent accidental shorting while working on the HVAC electrical components.
  2. Access the heater box area by removing the necessary dash panels or glove box to reach the blower resistor location.
  3. Note the resistor orientation and any wiring routing, then carefully remove the old or damaged screws and set the resistor aside.
  4. Clean the mounting holes and mating surfaces with a wire brush or contact cleaner to remove rust, debris, or old threadlocker.
  5. Position the resistor in its correct location and align the mounting holes.
  6. If desired, apply a small amount of medium-strength threadlocker to the screw threads.
  7. Insert the replacement screws and tighten by hand, then snug with a screwdriver or driver bit. Avoid overtightening—tighten until secure but do not strip threads.
  8. Reconnect any removed wiring, reassemble dash components, and reconnect the battery.
  9. Test blower operation through all fan speeds to confirm secure mounting and electrical function.
