Replacement hood/fender bumper designed for 1966-1967 Chevrolet Chevy II models. This bumper cushions and aligns the hood and fender, preventing metal-on-metal contact, reducing vibration, and restoring correct panel gaps. Made from a durable rubber compound for long-lasting performance, it provides reliable protection and simple installation for restoration or maintenance projects.
Features:
- Fits 1966-1967 Chevrolet Chevy II (Chevy II / Nova) models.
- Molded rubber construction resists weathering and compression for durable cushioning.
- Prevents hood and fender damage by absorbing impact and stopping metal-to-metal contact.
- Helps restore proper hood height and panel alignment for factory-fit appearance.
- Simple direct-replacement design makes installation quick and maintenance-friendly.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 10-30 minutes
Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, engage parking brake and open the hood.
- Locate the existing hood/fender bumper(s) at the hood-to-fender contact points.
- If the bumper is threaded, use the wrench/socket to remove the retaining nut and pull off the old bumper. If it is a push-in type, use a flathead screwdriver or trim tool to pry out the old bumper from its grommet or stud.
- Clean the mounting area and stud or grommet with a rag and light cleaner; apply penetrating oil if needed to free corroded hardware.
- Place the new bumper over the stud or into the grommet. For threaded types, position the bumper and tighten the retaining nut hand-tight, then snug with the wrench—do not overtighten to avoid compressing the rubber excessively.
- For push-in types, press the bumper firmly into place until seated flush and secure.
- Close the hood and check the gap and contact. Adjust bumper height (by tightening or loosening or using an alternate bumper position) until hood alignment and shut feel are correct.
- Re-check nuts/fasteners after a short test drive and retighten as necessary.
