Instructions:
- Open the door and remove the old jamb weatherstrip by gently prying it free with a flat-blade screwdriver or panel tool.
- Clean the mounting surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or parts cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt and grease; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip in the U-jamb to confirm orientation and length. Trim excess if necessary with a utility knife.
- Apply a thin, even coat of weatherstrip adhesive to the jamb surface and to the seal where indicated by the adhesive manufacturer (follow product instructions).
- Position the seal into the jamb starting at one end; press firmly along the length to seat the profile into the channel. Use masking tape to hold in place if needed while adhesive sets.
- Ensure the door closes smoothly and the seal compresses evenly; adjust positioning if necessary before adhesive cures.
- Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately with a clean rag and solvent recommended by the adhesive maker.
- Allow the adhesive to cure per the manufacturer's recommended time before driving or exposing to moisture.
