The Precision 1962-1967 Chevrolet Chevy II Glass Run Channel Kit (Left & Right, 4-piece GRK 1220 62) replaces worn or damaged window felt channels to restore smooth glass travel, proper sealing, and quiet operation. Designed for direct fitment to Chevy II (1962–1967) doors, this kit secures the window glass, prevents wind and water intrusion, reduces rattle and vibration, and protects the door interior. Durable materials and OE-style profiles make it an ideal restoration or maintenance part for classic Chevy II owners seeking reliable, long-lasting performance and straightforward installation.
Features:
- Fits 1962–1967 Chevrolet Chevy II (all two-door and four-door models as applicable).
- Four-piece kit includes left and right hand upper and lower glass run channels for complete door restoration.
- Constructed from durable, weather-resistant felt and molded backing for long service life and improved sealing.
- Restores smooth window operation, reduces wind noise and vibration, and prevents water intrusion into the door shell.
- Designed for direct/OE-style fit to simplify replacement during restoration or routine maintenance.
- Easy installation with basic hand tools; ideal for DIY restorations or professional reassembly.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours (both doors)
Instructions:
- Prepare the vehicle: park on level ground, lower windows (if possible), disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety.
- Remove the interior door panel: remove screws and clips, carefully pry off the panel with a trim tool, and disconnect any electrical connectors or door handle linkages.
- Support and lower the glass: if the glass is not removable from the regulator, tilt or lower it to the position needed to access the run channel mounting points. Use masking tape to secure the glass to the door frame while you work.
- Remove old channels: detach any retainers, clips, or screws holding the old glass run channels. Carefully peel or cut away old felt and backing; remove all old adhesive, rust, and debris from the channel area.
- Clean the channel area: wipe the channel tracks and mounting surface with rubbing alcohol to remove grease and loose particles. Ensure the surface is dry before installing new parts.
- Test-fit new channels: verify orientation of each left/right and upper/lower piece. Align the new channel into the door slot and press into place, ensuring the molded backing seats fully into the channel groove.
- Lubricate the glass edge: apply a light coating of silicone spray or soapy water to the felt contact surface to ease glass insertion and prevent binding.
- Reinstall the glass: carefully lower or raise the window into the newly installed run channels, checking for smooth operation. Reattach any regulator bolts or clips and remove masking tape.
- Cycle and adjust: operate the window several times to seat the felt and confirm smooth travel without binding. If necessary, make minor adjustments to channel position or regulator alignment.
- Reassemble the door: reinstall any trim retainers, window felts, and the interior door panel. Reconnect electrical connectors and the battery, then perform a final test for sealing and operation.
