A 24-piece upper and lower windshield/back window molding clip set designed to securely fasten and align trim on classic GM cars. Fits the critical mounting points for glass moldings, preventing vibration, rattles, and water intrusion while restoring factory fit and appearance. Durable, corrosion-resistant components simplify installation and provide a reliable, long-lasting replacement for worn or missing original clips during restoration or maintenance projects.
Features:
- Fits 1967-1972 GM cars — upper and lower windshield or back window moldings.
- Complete 24-piece set provides enough clips for full upper and lower molding replacement.
- High-quality steel construction with a corrosion-resistant finish for long service life.
- Secures and aligns window moldings to reduce vibration, rattles, and potential water leaks.
- Press-fit design for easy installation; replicates OE-style fit for accurate restoration.
- Great for restoration projects, maintenance, and replacing brittle or missing original clips.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the existing window molding: loosen any screws and gently pry the molding away from the body using a plastic trim tool or flat screwdriver to avoid damaging paint or glass.
- Remove old clips from the body flange and molding channel. If clips are rusted, use penetrating solvent and pliers to extract them.
- Clean the clip mounting flange and molding channel with a degreaser to remove dirt, adhesive, and corrosion. Dry thoroughly.
- Test-fit the new clips into the molding channel first to verify orientation and spacing. Reference remaining original clips for spacing if available.
- Install clips onto the body flange or into the molding channel depending on vehicle application: push each clip onto the flange until it snaps or seats squarely. Use needle-nose pliers for tight spots.
- Align the window molding over the glass edge and press it into the newly installed clips. Work along the length of the molding, ensuring each clip engages and the molding sits flush against the body.
- Reinstall any screws or retainers removed in step 1. Inspect the sealing edge for gaps and confirm even fitment. Make final adjustments as needed.
- Allow any cleaned surfaces to dry and, if desired, apply a light rust inhibitor to exposed metal around clip locations to extend longevity.
