  • Precision-formed high-strength steel construction for long-lasting durability
  • Fully welded, OEM-style geometry restores factory alignment and suspension mounting points
  • Helps prevent further corrosion and chassis flex by replacing damaged or rusted rails
  • Direct-fit replacement reduces fabrication time in restoration and repair projects
  • Designed for ease of installation when using standard metalwork and welding procedures
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 4/5
  • Estimated time: 4–8 hours (varies with rust removal, welding skill, and disassembly needs)
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack and jack stands or lift
  • Welder (MIG or TIG recommended) and welding supplies
  • Angle grinder and cutting tools (reciprocating saw, cutoff wheel)
  • Clamps and welder's magnets
  • Drill and drill bits
  • Wire brush or grinder wheel for rust/paint removal
  • Measuring tape, marker, and straightedge
  • Protective gear (welding helmet, gloves, eye protection)
  • Torque wrench and basic hand tools (sockets, ratchets, wrenches)
  • Seam sealer and primer/paint for corrosion protection
Instructions:
  1. Prepare vehicle: disconnect battery, safely lift and support vehicle on stands or a lift, and remove the rear axle, suspension components, fuel tank, and any items obstructing access to the right rear frame rail.
  2. Assess and mark: inspect the existing rail, mark cut lines where the old rail joins solid structure, and identify any attached brackets or tabs that must be preserved or transferred.
  3. Cut out old rail: carefully cut the damaged or rusted rail sections away, leaving clean mating surfaces. Preserve any usable brackets or attachment points to transfer if required.
  4. Clean and prep mating surfaces: grind back to bare metal, remove rust and coatings, and ensure surfaces are square and true for a good weld.
  5. Test fit new rail: position the new right rear frame rail into place, check alignment to body mounts and suspension points, and make any necessary adjustments with clamps.
  6. Tack weld in position: clamp securely and tack weld the rail in multiple spots to hold alignment. Recheck measurements and fit of suspension mounts and body panel gaps.
  7. Complete welds: finish weld seams in short, controlled passes to minimize distortion. Allow cooling between passes and check alignment frequently.
  8. Protect seams: grind welds smooth as needed, apply seam sealer to joints, and prime painted areas with corrosion-resistant primer before final topcoat.
  9. Reassemble components: reinstall suspension, axle, fuel tank, brake lines and any removed hardware. Torque fasteners to factory specifications and refill fluids if applicable.
  10. Final checks: lower vehicle, verify alignment and suspension geometry, inspect welds and seam protection, and perform a road test. Address any adjustments or touch-up painting as needed.
