This 10-piece lower windshield molding clip set is designed to securely fasten the lower windshield molding on 1968–1974 Chevrolet Nova models. Each clip replaces worn or missing retainers to restore a factory-fit appearance, reduce wind noise and vibration, and prevent the molding from lifting or damaging the paint. Manufactured from corrosion-resistant plated steel for long life, these clips provide reliable retention and easy installation — ideal for restoration, maintenance, or trim replacement projects.
Features:
- Fits 1968–1974 Chevrolet Nova lower windshield molding.
- 10-piece set provides full replacement for the lower molding retention points.
- Plated steel construction resists rust and corrosion for long-lasting durability.
- Secures lower windshield molding to prevent rattles, gaps, and trim movement.
- Direct OEM-style replacement for restoring original fit and appearance.
- Simple press-fit design speeds installation and reduces the need for special parts or modifications.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-45 minutes
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the lower windshield molding: gently pry along the edge using a trim tool or flat-blade screwdriver to free the molding from the body studs and old clips.
- Remove any remaining old clips from the body or the molding channel. Use pliers to pull out stubborn retainers and a mild cleaner to remove dirt and adhesive residue.
- Inspect the molding and mounting area for damage or rust. Repair or clean the area as needed so the new clips seat properly.
- Position the new clips along the molding or on the body studs in the same locations as the original hardware. Test-fit clips to ensure correct alignment before final installation.
- Align the molding with the windshield lower edge and press it into place so each clip engages the body stud or channel. Apply even pressure along the molding to seat all clips fully.
- Check all clips to ensure they are fully seated and the molding is flush with the body. Make any small adjustments with pliers if a clip is not fully engaged.
- Wipe the area clean and inspect the seal and trim fit. Re-check after a short drive to confirm there is no movement or vibration.
