This durable, molded polyurethane bumper restores proper suspension limits, reduces noise and vibration, and protects control arm components from impact damage. It’s a direct-fit replacement ideal for restoration and maintenance projects, offering long-lasting performance and simple installation.
Features:
  • Fits 1971–2004 GM cars & trucks — lower front control arm bumper application.
  • Made from high-density polyurethane for superior wear resistance and longevity.
  • Prevents metal-to-metal contact, limits suspension travel, and reduces noise and vibration.
  • Direct OEM-style replacement for restoration or routine maintenance.
  • Resists oil, grease, and road contaminants for reliable performance over time.
  • Easy to install with basic hand tools; restores original suspension feel and protection.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30 minutes (per side)
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack
  • Jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Lug wrench or impact wrench
  • Socket set and ratchet
  • Flat-blade screwdriver or small pry bar
  • Rubber mallet
  • Penetrating oil (if corroded)
  • Safety glasses and gloves
Instructions:
  1. Park on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and chock the rear wheels.
  2. Loosen the front wheel lug nuts slightly, then raise the vehicle with a floor jack and support it securely on jack stands.
  3. Remove the front wheel to access the lower control arm.
  4. Locate the existing lower control arm bumper. If present, apply penetrating oil to any corroded mounting area and allow it to soak.
  5. Remove the old bumper by prying it out with a flat-blade screwdriver or cutting it away if necessary.
  6. Clean the bumper mounting pocket on the control arm of dirt, rust, and debris so the new bumper seats fully.
  7. Align the replacement bumper with the pocket and press it into place. Use a rubber mallet to seat the bumper if needed, ensuring it is fully flush and secure.
  8. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer’s specification.
  9. Test the suspension by gently bouncing the vehicle and checking for proper travel and that the bumper is functioning without interference.
