This light green nylon molding clip is a direct-fit replacement for many General Motors cars and light trucks produced from 1975 through 1990. Measuring 15.25mm x 30.5mm, the clip secures exterior and interior trim pieces, helping prevent rattles, moisture intrusion, and panel movement. Constructed from durable, corrosion- and UV-resistant nylon, it offers reliable retention for restoration and maintenance projects and installs quickly with a simple push-in action.
Features:
  • Fitment: Direct-fit for many 1975–1990 GM cars and light trucks (OEM-style trim applications).
  • Light green nylon construction resists corrosion, UV degradation, and road chemicals.
  • Dimensions: 15.25mm x 30.5mm for accurate replacement of worn or broken clips.
  • Secures exterior and interior molding to prevent vibration, rattles, and trim sag.
  • Easy push-in installation — ideal for restoration projects and routine maintenance.
  • Durable, reliable replacement that restores factory fit and finish for aging panels.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 5–15 minutes per clip; 30–90 minutes for a full panel depending on access
Suggested Tools:
  • Trim removal tool (plastic preferred)
  • Flat-blade screwdriver
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Panel clip pliers (optional)
  • Clean rag
Instructions:
  1. Carefully remove the trim or molding using a trim removal tool to avoid bending or scratching the piece.
  2. Remove the old or damaged clip by pulling it out with needle-nose pliers or prying gently with a flat-blade screwdriver.
  3. Inspect and clean the mounting hole; remove rust, paint flakes, or debris. If the hole is enlarged, consider a repair sleeve or larger retainer.
  4. Orient the new clip so the retention barb faces toward the panel material and align the clip with the mounting hole.
  5. Press the clip into the hole until the head sits flush with the panel surface and the barbs engage.
  6. Align the trim piece over the installed clips and press the molding firmly until it snaps into place on each clip.
  7. Verify secure fitment by checking for even seating and lightly tugging the trim. Repeat for remaining clips as needed.
  8. Tip: If clips are tight, a small amount of silicone spray can ease installation. Avoid petroleum-based lubricants that can degrade nylon.
