Installation / Application:

Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, chock rear wheels, loosen front wheel lug nuts.
- Raise the front of the vehicle with a floor jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
- Locate the front upper ball joint on the control arm and spray fasteners with penetrating oil if needed.
- Remove cotter pin and castle nut from the ball joint stud, then separate the ball joint stud from the steering knuckle using a ball joint separator or pickle fork. Support the knuckle to avoid straining brake lines.
- If the ball joint is riveted, remove rivets or drill them out per vehicle specifics. If bolted, remove retaining bolts/nuts attaching the ball joint to the control arm.
- Press or drive the old ball joint out of the control arm. Clean the control arm bore and inspect for wear or damage.
- Install the new ball joint into the control arm. If a press is required, use appropriate adapters to press the joint squarely into place. Reinstall any retaining bolts or use supplied hardware as specified.
- Reattach the ball joint stud to the steering knuckle, torque the castle nut to manufacturer specification, and insert a new cotter pin where applicable.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to specification.
- Have front-end alignment checked and adjusted as necessary after replacement to ensure proper tire wear and handling.
