Replacement Pitman Arm for 1968–1974 Buick, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile and Pontiac steering systems with a 32-tooth (32T) spline. This heavy-duty pitman arm transfers motion from the steering box to the center link, maintaining correct steering geometry and reliable vehicle control. Built from hardened steel and finished to resist corrosion, it restores steering precision, reduces play, and improves safety on classic GM A-body and related platforms. Ideal for restoration projects or maintenance, it provides a dependable, direct-fit replacement that simplifies installation and returns original steering feel.

- Fits 1968–1974 Buick, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile and Pontiac models with a 32T pitman arm spline.
- Forged/hardened steel construction for long-lasting strength and wear resistance.
- Restores proper steering geometry and reduces play for improved handling.
- Direct-fit replacement designed for restoration and maintenance of classic GM vehicles.
- Pre-finished to resist rust and corrosion for extended service life.
- Easy to install with common hand tools and a pitman arm puller; suitable for DIY mechanics.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, set parking brake, and block rear wheels; raise front of vehicle and support on jack stands if required.
- Remove the steering arm nut at the pitman arm using an appropriate socket; do not fully remove if using a hammer method (prefer puller method).
- Apply penetrating oil to the pitman arm splined shaft and let soak if corrosion is present.
- Attach a pitman arm puller to the pitman arm and evenly tighten the center forcing bolt to press the arm off the sector shaft; avoid using a hammer directly on the arm to prevent damage.
- Inspect the sector shaft splines, steering box seal area, and adjacent components for wear or damage; clean mating surfaces.
- Align the replacement pitman arm splines to the sector shaft and slide it into position; ensure correct orientation to match original alignment and steering geometry.
- Install the pitman arm nut and tighten by hand, then torque to manufacturer specification using a torque wrench.
- Reconnect any linkage or hardware removed and verify cotter pins or locking devices are installed if applicable.
- Lower vehicle, perform a steering check for proper operation and no binding, and test drive at low speed to confirm steering feel and alignment. Perform full alignment if necessary.
