Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-45 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the passenger door and carefully remove the old weatherstrip by pulling it out of the channel; use a trim tool or flat-blade screwdriver to ease stubborn sections.
- Clean the channel and mating surfaces thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt and debris; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the door perimeter to ensure correct orientation and length; trim excess with scissors or a utility knife if necessary.
- If adhesive is recommended for your application, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the channel or along the gasket flange per adhesive instructions.
- Starting at one end, press the new weatherstrip firmly into the channel, working around the door and ensuring the bulb and flange seat fully; use masking tape to hold sections in place while adhesive cures if needed.
- Close and open the door several times to confirm fitment, adjust any high spots, and allow adhesive to cure according to the manufacturer's directions before driving.
