Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and lower (or remove) the quarter vent glass if applicable and accessible.
- Carefully remove any interior trim or molding that obstructs access to the quarter window channel using trim tools and screwdrivers; keep fasteners organized.
- Remove the old weatherstrip by peeling it out of the channel; use a trim tool to ease stubborn sections. Cut away any adhesive residue with a utility knife, taking care not to damage the metal channel.
- Thoroughly clean the channel and surrounding area with isopropyl alcohol or a mild cleaner and a rag. Allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the channel to confirm orientation (this is the right-hand/RHS piece) and that the length fits. Trim excess with a utility knife or scissors if needed.
- Apply a light coating of rubber lubricant or soapy water to the sealing lip to aid installation and to help seat the seal without twisting or pinching.
- Starting at one end, press the new weatherstrip into the channel, working along the length and ensuring the seal is fully seated. Use masking tape to hold sections in place if necessary while you work.
- Reinstall any interior trim or molding removed earlier, verifying that the seal aligns and does not bind the glass or mechanism.
- Operate the quarter window or vent to confirm smooth movement and that the glass seats properly against the new seal without gaps.
- Inspect for leaks by running water along the sealed area or using a hose; make any minor adjustments or trim as needed to achieve a watertight fit.
