Rear window weatherstrip seal engineered for 1962-1965 Chevrolet Chevy II 2-door Hardtop models. It seals and secures the rear glass to the body opening, preventing water intrusion, wind noise and vibration while aligning with the chrome exterior trim. Constructed from a durable EPDM rubber compound, the seal resists UV, ozone and heat for long-lasting reliability—ideal for restoration and maintenance projects where correct fit and dependable performance are required.
Features:
- Fits 1962-1965 Chevrolet Chevy II 2-door Hardtop models.
- OEM-style rear window weatherstrip designed to work with chrome trim in body clips (WCR DB3128).
- Made from durable EPDM rubber for resistance to UV, ozone and temperature degradation.
- Seals rear glass to prevent leaks, reduce wind noise and minimize vibration.
- Easy to install with standard trim tools; restores proper fit and appearance.
- Ideal replacement for restoration or maintaining classic Chevy II body integrity.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1-2 hours
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and protect the rear parcel tray and interior with cloths or cardboard.
- Remove interior trim and package tray panels to gain access to the rear window mounting area following vehicle-specific procedures.
- Carefully remove the chrome exterior trim and any retaining body clips (note clip locations and save reusable clips; replace if damaged).
- If the rear glass must be removed to replace the seal, carefully loosen and remove glass fasteners and have an assistant support the glass; otherwise proceed if the seal can be replaced with glass in place per vehicle condition.
- Remove the old weatherstrip and any remaining adhesive or debris from the channel using a putty knife and solvent; ensure the channel is clean and dry.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip to confirm orientation and fit; if recommended, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel—do not over-apply.
- Starting at one end, press the new seal into the body channel, working around the opening. Use a rubber mallet or wooden block to seat the seal evenly without deforming the rubber.
- Reinstall the chrome trim, engaging it into the new seal and snapping body clips into place. Replace any broken or missing clips with new ones for a secure fit.
- If the glass was removed, reinstall the rear window and tighten fasteners to the specified torque while ensuring proper alignment and seal compression.
- Reinstall interior trim and package tray, then inspect the seal for uniform seating. Test for leaks by using a garden hose or performing a water test and check for wind noise on a short drive.
