This right-hand roof rail weatherstrip seal (RWR 1410 62) is designed to restore the roof-to-rail seal on 1962–1965 Chevrolet Chevy II vehicles. It seals the roof rail channel to prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise, and protect interior trim and headliner from moisture damage. Molded from durable EPDM-style rubber with an OEM-style profile, this seal provides a long-lasting, reliable replacement that helps preserve vehicle value and improves cabin comfort. Its design allows straightforward fitting and secure retention along the roof rail for a clean, factory-correct restoration.
Features:
- Fits 1962–1965 Chevrolet Chevy II — right-hand (passenger) roof rail, RWR 1410 62
- Made from durable EPDM-style rubber for long-term weather resistance
- Seals roof rail to prevent water leaks and reduce wind noise
- OEM-style profile for accurate fit and secure trim retention
- Easy to install for restoration or replacement projects; restores factory appearance
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip and any roof molding or trim pieces along the right roof rail using a trim tool and screwdrivers as needed.
- Clean the seal channel thoroughly, removing old adhesive and debris. Use isopropyl alcohol or an appropriate solvent to ensure a clean, dry surface.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the rail to confirm orientation and length. Identify the front and rear ends and any mounting features.
- Trim excess material if necessary with a utility knife or scissors — cut conservatively and re-test fit frequently.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or to the seal backing per the adhesive manufacturer's instructions. Avoid excess glue that can squeeze out.
- Starting at the front of the roof rail, press the weatherstrip into the channel working rearward. Use masking tape to hold the seal in place or hand-press along the length to ensure full engagement of the retaining bead.
- Reinstall any roof molding or trim pieces and secure fasteners. Check that the seal lies flat and that door and window clearances are correct.
- Allow adhesive to cure per the cement instructions (typically 24 hours) before exposing to heavy moisture or driving at high speeds.
