Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per door
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the door panel and any trim necessary to access the upper glass run area (keep fasteners organized).
- Lower the window to a position that allows access to the top of the glass and the run channel.
- Remove the old upper glass run channel by loosening any retaining clips or screws and sliding the channel out; cut and peel away stubborn rubber as needed.
- Thoroughly clean the channel seating area and remove any debris, adhesive residue, or rust to ensure a smooth installation surface.
- Test-fit the new upper glass run channel (left or right as required) and trim to length if necessary using a utility knife or scissors.
- Apply a light coating of soapy water or silicone lubricant to the new run channel to ease installation and prevent pinching.
- Carefully slide the new channel into place, ensuring the retaining edge seats fully and the channel aligns with the glass path.
- Operate the window up and down slowly to confirm smooth travel and correct alignment; make small position adjustments if needed.
- Reinstall any clips, screws, trim, and the door panel, then perform a final check for proper sealing, quiet operation, and absence of leaks.
