Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip: carefully pry out the existing roof rail seal and any retained clips or adhesive, using a trim tool to avoid damaging surrounding metal or trim.
- Clean the mounting channel: remove old adhesive and debris with adhesive remover or isopropyl alcohol; ensure the surface is dry and free of oils.
- Test-fit the new seal: align the new right-hand roof rail weatherstrip in the channel to confirm orientation and length before applying adhesive.
- Apply adhesive: follow the adhesive manufacturer's instructions and apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the mounting channel or back of the seal as recommended.
- Position and press: starting at one end, press the weatherstrip firmly into the channel, working toward the opposite end and making sure the seal seats fully into the profile.
- Secure while curing: use masking tape or spring clamps to hold the seal in place per adhesive cure time recommendations (typically 1–24 hours depending on adhesive).
- Trim and reassemble: trim any excess material if necessary, reinstall trim pieces or headliner, and inspect the seal for gaps.
- Test for leaks: after adhesive cures, perform a water test or check for wind noise at speed to confirm a proper seal.
