This left-hand door weatherstrip seal is engineered to restore the original door-to-body seal on 1968 2-door sedans. Designed to block water, wind, dust and road noise, the profile reproduces OEM fit and function for a snug, long-lasting seal. Constructed from durable, weather-resistant EPDM rubber with an integrated retaining flange, it resists shrinking, cracking and UV degradation while providing easy installation and reliable performance for restoration or maintenance projects.
Features:
- Fits 1968 2-door sedans — left-hand (driver-side) door weatherstrip
- Made from durable, weather-resistant EPDM rubber for long service life
- Recreates OEM profile to prevent leaks, wind noise and dust intrusion
- Integrated retaining flange for secure attachment and proper alignment
- Easy replacement for restoration or maintenance to restore fit and finish
- Resists shrinking, cracking and UV damage for reliable, all-season protection
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip: gently pry out any retaining clips and pull the old seal free from the door channel.
- Clean the mounting surface: remove old adhesive, dirt and grease with a scraper and rubbing alcohol. Ensure the flange channel is dry and free of debris.
- Test-fit the new seal: align the new weatherstrip along the door edge to confirm fit and identify any trimming points.
- Apply adhesive: follow the adhesive manufacturer's directions. Apply a thin, even bead of adhesive to the door flange or channel (or both if specified).
- Install the seal: press the weatherstrip flange fully into the channel, working from one end to the other. Use masking tape or clamps to hold sections in place if needed.
- Trim and finish: trim any excess material with scissors or a utility knife for a clean fit around corners and ends.
- Secure and cure: reinstall any retaining clips if applicable and allow the adhesive to cure for the recommended time before closing the door repeatedly (typically 1–24 hours depending on adhesive).
