Accurate reproduction rear window weatherstrip designed for 1962–1964 Chevrolet Chevy II sedan models. This seal includes a molded trim groove to accept the original steel rear window molding, creating a secure, watertight barrier that prevents leaks, wind noise and vibration. Constructed from long-lasting EPDM-style rubber with an OEM-correct profile, it restores proper glass fitment and improves durability, weather resistance and noise isolation. Engineered for reliable performance and straightforward installation, it’s ideal for restoration and routine maintenance projects.
Features:
  • Fits 1962–1964 Chevrolet Chevy II (sedan models) rear window.
  • Molded trim groove accepts original steel rear window molding for an authentic appearance.
  • High-quality EPDM-style rubber resists UV, ozone and weathering for long service life.
  • Restores correct glass fitment to prevent leaks, drafts and wind noise.
  • OEM-style profile provides direct-fit replacement for restoration accuracy.
  • Flexible, durable construction reduces vibration and protects the glass edge.
  • Sold as the complete rear window weatherstrip; steel trim is not included.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 1-3 hours
Suggested Tools:
  • Trim removal tools / plastic pry tools
  • Suction cups or glass handling aids
  • Phillips screwdriver / flatblade screwdriver
  • Socket set or wrench
  • Utility knife or razor blade
  • Clean shop rags
  • Isopropyl alcohol or solvent cleaner
  • Soapy water or rubber lubricant (window soap or glycerin)
  • Rubber mallet or soft-faced hammer
  • Masking tape and gloves
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground and wear gloves; disconnect the negative battery terminal if removing interior trim panels with electrical components.
  2. Remove interior trim, moldings and any fasteners around the rear window to access the window assembly and exterior molding. Use trim tools to avoid damage.
  3. If required for your model, carefully remove the rear glass using suction cups or appropriate glass tools. Have an assistant help for safety.
  4. Remove the old weatherstrip by trimming or prying it out of the channel. Take care not to damage the channel or surrounding sheetmetal.
  5. Thoroughly clean the window channel and glass edge with solvent and a clean rag to remove old adhesive, dirt and weatherstrip residue.
  6. Dry-fit the new weatherstrip into the channel to confirm orientation and fit. Note the molded trim groove location for the steel molding.
  7. Apply soapy water or rubber lubricant to the weatherstrip bead and the channel to ease installation.
  8. Starting at the top-center, press the new weatherstrip into the channel working outward and downward, fully seating the bead into the channel. Use a soft-faced hammer or block to evenly seat the seal if necessary.
  9. If reinstalling steel trim, align the trim and press it into the weatherstrip’s molded groove so it locks into place and achieves the correct exterior appearance.
  10. Reinstall the rear glass (if removed), interior trim and all fasteners. Ensure the glass is properly seated and the weatherstrip is not pinched or twisted.
  11. Inspect the seal for full contact around the perimeter and perform a water test (hose the window) to check for leaks. Make minor adjustments as needed.
